Absolutely nothing wrong with the bell centennial question. It let you work facts out based on what you know .. but well, you ought to have known a telephone directory beforehand so that’s experiential knowledge right there.
I don’t even have a landline in my house for the past few years and so I doubt if my kids have even seen a telephone directory or yellow pages so the next generation or so of quizzers will probably give you blank looks if you ask them that.
