Another recommendation: working close to home. I've spent the last couple of years with a work commute of 5-10 minutes (and the 3 years before that working from home) and I can't go back to 1+ hours in Bangalore traffic each way.
*Seriously* worth the money, in notionally lost opportunities. All comes down to my favourite question, "what are you optimising for?" Udhay
