skills in a "grasping" way too

Good point. However, barring any unlikely advances in either Cherryh- style "tape" or in lifespan extension*, pursuing the sorts of knowledge and skills that take years to accomplish gives a certain implicit prioritisation, even should one fail to do so explicitly.


* the former shortening learning periods, the latter lengthening total time available.
