If you read Kannada, you should pick up Ba Na Sundaes Rao's comprehensive book on Bangalore's history. That's Sundara Rao and not Sundaes as my autocorrect thinks it is. Also, I can dig out my copy of Aditi De's book if you don't find it. Being an anthology of very disparate pieces, the book keeps lurching between meh and nice.
