I would also recommend the book "Perfumes: The Guide" by Tania Sanchez and Luca Turin [1] which is a compilation of several thousand perfume reviews, written in amusing and incisive prose. While I am at it, I recommend a book about Luca Turin [2] who is quite an iconoclast and the originator of a somewhat controversial theory about how the sense of smell works. As a bonus, the book features appearances by a couple of silklisters.
