This is my orientation, others on the list may see it otherwise. It is necessary to standardize a protocol, then duplicate the procedure each time you make a production run. Take a representative sample and send it off to a lab to be tested for ppm (and particle size if you really want to get fancy). Then stick to the exact procedure in the future. It is aproximate, but close enough I think, for personal use. > How does one filter them out? > Lab supply houses have different types of filter paper. I use 25micron, 5micron, and 1micron filters. About 6-10 cents a piece. VWR has a good selection you can get a catalog from them or order over the phone 1-800-923-5000. I'll send you some materials via private e-mail, they are kind of bulky.
