Hi, Ken!

I've heard of that method with the Motherlode brand CS maker.  (I use a
homemade generator.)  That way, you do not need to add an electrolyte
(i.e., salt) to get the process started, as the CS starter that takes an
hour will provide current for the silver to come out of solution
(quicker than if you start every time from scratch.)

I would recommend that you have your final batch tested for ppm if your
literature does not provide that information.  It can be tested for
about $20 at nearly any lab that does environmental testing (water
testing for wells, etc.)
