*  The premise of homeopathy is "like will cure like."  A homeopathic
proving is when a substance is administered to a healthy individual, no
symptoms.  The proving is the symptoms elicited from taking the
substance.  The recordings of the provings are contained in the various
homeopathic materia medicas.  

Like cures like means that a substance that will create a set of
symptoms in a healthy individual, will CURE them in the person
exhibiting those symptoms.

A CS proving would mean that the CS is not acting curatively in a body,
but instead, is *creating* a certain set of symptoms.  JT Kent did his
write-up of several pages on the provings of silver, and silver nitrate.
