Thanks for the suggestion Jack.  I have many many sterile latex gloves like
surgeons use and a couple of them cut up into disks about the size of an
.06 rifle patch and slipping a 1 inch O ring over the latex onto the bottle
will work beautiful. The gloves can be purchased in most any drugstore and
the O rings from a hardware store. The O rings will way outlast a rubber
band and not be so bothersome to work with.
