Hi List! Here are a couple of thoughts ......
I have used hydrogen peroxide bottles (dark brown plastic , 1 pint bottles) many times. You can often get them 3 for a dollar (full of 3% HP too). They work fine. I think the reason some folks may be having their solutions affected by using this type of bottle could be a matter of producing an unstable solution from the beginning, rather than the miniscule amount of HP that might theoretically have been absorbed by the plastic and then later theoretically been released into the CS solution at a later time. I have had no problem with my solutions turning clear when using these. Another thought, as long as the container is kept in the dark, the light won't affect it, even in clear glass containers. A cupboard works just fine. After a year on the shelf I had two gallons of colloidal gold completely fall out of solution due to sunlight (just a little) having access to the pantry where they were stored. The third gallon from the same batch remained entact, it was kept on an upper shelf in a pantry that remained closed during the day, no light. They were all in clear glass containers. If anyone is doing the colloidal gold experiment, let me correct my statement of the gap set for the electrodes...it is 3/16 of an inch. Sorry, I was typing too fast! :) The fallout of the particles is often related to the method of manufacturing the solution. I find that the lengthy period of generating the solution that I use, in my "inconvenient" method which utilizes repeated filtrations and cleaning the electrodes, in an effort to concentrate the solution, actually puts more energy into the particles in the process. Their charge dramatically increases. This is the only possible explanation for the long shelf-life of these solutions. Some folks are apparently having problems keeping the charge in their particles (which keeps them in solution). This method may be "inconvenient" but it makes a very good silver colloid solution. I find it well worth the trouble. BTW: My wife is doing famously, thank you one and all for your kind words of support and prayerful intercession! God Bless, Scott John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish , but have everlasting life."
