When you kill off the flora in your intestine you get alot of gas along
with loose bowels.  Taking acidophillus will stop that.   As for a herx,
that is when the CS kills off alot of bad bugs at once and they release
toxins into your system which causes more pain than you  might have had
before.
Anything else just let us know.  What are you taking CS for?
