If I understand the distillation process (and I *think* I do) you don't have to worry about heavy metals in your boiling pot. Whatever heavy metals it puts into the water will *stay* in the boiling pot. That is how distilling purifies water. What you *do* have to worry about is the material of the *condensing coil* and/or the catching vessel.
