Steam distilling is one of them. Its convenient to sterilize at the same time we purify the water. The purpose of triple distilling is not to sterilize water. Some industrial applications require ultra pure water. The making of IC chips require cleaning between layer depositions, this requires triple distilled water. Triple distilling is a special process,you don`t do it at home. Its done under a vacuum and the distillate never comes in contact with the atmosphere. It has zero contaminates in it. Adding H2O2 is another way to sterilize water ,but not very popular because its hazardous. It will not clean the water either.
