The simplest form of a distiller, you can find in any survival book. Dig a
pit in the ground, place a glass bowl in the middle of it, place a loose
plastic tarp over the pit and place a rock in the center of the tarp to
form a cone going into the pit. Place rocks or whatever around the edge to
hold the tarp in place. The sun will form condensation on the tarp and it
will run downhill to the center and drip into the bowl. When the hole runs
out of moisture, just pour in a bucketfull of fresh water and start all over.

Now the only problem is whether the condensed water will leach chemicals
out of the tarp. Any ideas about that anybody?
