I found that my glass only stains when my water quality is not the best. When I use lab-distilled water (from the local university chemistry faculty), I get no stains. I used some "optimum quality" deionised water that cost a fortune and it made amber stuff that really stained my beaker. I cleaned it with an ammonia detergent and a green scrub pad.
