Hi Douglas downunder!!!

Take it easy there Mate! We'll get grandma's priceless heirloom vase
back to pristine clearness in a *JIFF!*

Get yerself to the store and buy some kind of copper cleaner, like
you would use to brighten the bottoms of copper clad cookware. It'll
etch the silver right off the glass. You might need a skinny bottle
brush or a test-tube brush to get it to the bottom of your vase.

I happen to have some Amway metal cleaner which works just fine.
Before we bought that, there was another product from the store, I
think it was called Twinkle Copper Cleaner, that we used also.

Just be *SURE* to thoroughly wash and rinse away all residues of
cleaners and soaps before using.

I usually rinse things in tap water, then filtered water (since I
happen to have a filter), and then double rinse with my distilled
water just before using.

> Anyway, all you new silver list/er/enrs shouldn't take my rantings
> too seriously, just strive to reach and fabricate that golden silver
> elixar and graduate to that higher level of silver dependance - and
> be warned - you may stain that treasured heirloom vase - Yes that
> one that grandma held dearly.

Methinks he's feeling better!? <grin>

Be well,

Mike
