Blind tests are for laboratory cultures and > experimental animals, not people. The kids can get no worse than all the other kids who are not taking CS. The situation Tai-pan describes is ideal for a CS test. No one medically qualified or legally qualified would describe CS as 'treatment'. (But then I am not in the USA where kids seem to regularly shoot up schools because they all have free access to handguns! My kids here in australia have never even seen a real handgun or rifle. In Hong Kong the very possession of a bullet can send you to jail. So I would not worry about not giving them CS for a while.) Much progress of medicine over the last 150 years is about experimenting on people, especially on the person who proposed the test. That is, doctors giving themselves the anti-whatever first.
