Sheila thanks for that reply!

You've really got me thinking now. I don't know if you remember or not but
my symptoms started immediately after an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin
this last March (39 years of antibiotics and now the body says 'you're
allergic to this').

Well anyway I went a full ten days on the penicillin and that last night had
some funny itchy mosquito bite type bumps. I mentioned something to Theres
about changing the fabric softener and went to bed. The next morning was
interesting to say the least - full blown hives. I went into work not
realizing this was a penicillin reaction (remember I'd never been allergic
to ANYthing before). Well one of the guys INSISTED that I not only call my
doctor but get my butt in to see them.

Long story short. They put me on major steroids to squash the immune system,
and pumped me full of benedryl. Then things got alarmingly worse. Thinking I
had the proper meds in me I went back to work the next day. I made it
through work but the benedryl 'wore-off' about 12noon and my next dose was
6pm. About 3am the next morn things really got bad. I woke up that morning
and almost couldn't walk. My feet/hands (extremities) were bruising from the
inside out.

You know it's not going to be a good day in the E.R. when the Dr's lift your
gown and go **W0W**!!
They proclaimed that I now had a "Serum sickness" (whatever that is,..
nearest I can fig it's an infection of the blood serum). That whole
following week I was off work (which for me is absolutely unheard of). *ALL*
my joints had swollen and become intolerably inflammed. I was on Ibuprofin
600 AND Vicotin for the pain and it didn't even touch it.

Anyway since March now my shoulders have not returned to normal almost as if
the infection had either eroded some of the protective lining out of the
sockets or deposited some stuff that hurts.

Which brings me to this question concerning CS; your quotes follow.
<tje> Further research also uncovered a "new" theory (that the
<tje> medical community
<tje> for the most part doesn't know about or believe) about auto-immune
<tje> conditions which cause joint pain (and possibly bursitis?),
<tje> which is that
<tje> some kind of mutated bacteria or possibly a "bad" bacteria in
<tje> the colon
<tje> could launch an auto-immune response, which can't get at the offending
<tje> bacteria, but as a side effect, attacks joints or other parts
<tje> of the body. I
<tje> may have even read about that on this list.

Do you think it's possible that this might be going on? Would CS have a
favorable impact on this? The Dr's of course haven't a clue what's going on
and "can't possibly imagine why this is happening".

Comments?
