Could you please explain how drinking the juice of a lemon causes an alkaline reaction? I have heard this before, but it seems counter intuitive, seeing how lemons would most likely be acidic.
Correction...
Juice from RIPE lemons (and limes and grapefruit) will cause an alkaline reaction in the body.
If the fruit is not ripe enough, its juice will most definitely cause an acidic reaction in the body.
This is, in fact, why many people have problems with lemons and limes and other citrus fruits - becasue most are picked unripe. they do tend to ripen after picked, but this is not nearly idea as tree ripened.
I do not know the nature of *why* ingesting an acidic juice (as tested with a ph tester) has an alkaline reaction in the body...
