List - everyone; thanks for the suggestions. Marshall - great website for "HEPA air purifiers"; will try that. They were a little pricey, but they are better than the ones from the "Sharper Image".
to the Clayton family - as I can, due to water restrictions, I am doing that... hosing down the windows every 3rd night or so and also the outside porch. I am also spraying watered down vinegar and water on carpet areas - then vaccumming. And mopping on hardwood floors - anything I can to cut down on the carcinogenic effect this will have on the house.... I suppose I will be okay, as I am pretty healthy, but it's like I said; if it gets much worse, then elderly friends and friends of friends I want to try to help because my area has a lot of retirees and elderly on nebulizers and oxygen, already. I'm surprised they haven't been crowding the emergency rooms. I want to be ahead of the game. We tried putting damp towels over the intake vent, but it sucked it all the way in........LOL And as Red Skelton used to say; "and to all a Good Night" Jeanine On 5/30/07, Clayton Family <[email protected]> wrote:
If you have a good hepa filter air cleaner, that will help also, esp if it has a charcoal prefilter that is changable. The charcoal will help trap the organic fumes that the regular filter will miss, and not just shoot it out of the air to fall on the floor. Another suggestion is to wet dust the bedroom everyday, and damp mop it as well. this really helps keep down the dust on a daily basis. You can try hosing down the yard outside the windows in the evenings, that can also help settle whatever dust is outside, so less comes in the house. Good luck, I hope you get some relief.
