No, it's not. I drink it all the time and so do some of my friends. It gently detoxifies the liver and rest of the system. I started taking it when my husband had the cancer and felt like it gave me strength. We still take it. I make it every two weeks and have for several years. The other thing I forgot to mention is Milk Thistle. That is the number 1 herb for detoxing the liver. Usually when the liver enzymes are high it is indicative of some type of poisoning of the liver from pharma drugs (usually), poisoning from something else like a toxin hidden in a food, or eating a toxic food diet (such as a McDonald's heavy consumer). Most likely, it is a pharma drug either over the counter or prescription.
