Hi, Charles. The antigas med I spoke of is the drugstore brand of colace,
consists of simethicone. It is available OTC and is less expensive than the
name brands. IF I don't take it, the gas piles up in there and seems to
stop everything. I sometimes take an enema and the first return will
frequently be preceded by a huge passage of gas and water. If I don't do
anything , I get hard lumps from here to there that take immense pressure
and or enema to get them going. The pressure works against the upper ribcage
burning which is often intense. Had the upper scopes at different times in
my life, several in the last couple of years. Dr. says there is an area of
slight irritation . I do have a small hiatal hernia. Thanks for your help.
I am always grateful for everyones' ideas and have tried some of them.
Ruth

Hi Ruth,
I take an antigas med regularly with meals.
What would this med be? Oft times, prescribed meds can cause far more
problems than they may solve (if they solve anything at all). Also, some
meds will cause an alternative solution to appear not to work, when it
would work if you stopped the med.
Of course, I am not suggesting that you just stop any meds, without first
talking to your doc and/or doing some research on potential problems in
doing so.
