Some of my mailbox files are over 100 meg in size.
I think this is what ruined the silver list archives, the files became so
large the software or the operation system could not manage them.

Of course a file can become corrupt, easily.
The archives should have been broken up in years or some manner to limit
the file size. Wayne

The Lyme site had a really useful system where one of the helpers saved the
useful mails into files which preserved the query and the reply. This was
put up on the website independently of automatic archives. One could copy
and save the whole thing if one wished, without having to go to various
posts one after another.

Now, all of you time-rich, occupation-poor CSers - how about that for a
challenge? You over there, Sir, the one with all the useful mails intact?
Volunteering? Or your neighbour there with time but no archives - how about
a deal between you for the benefit of all of us who like an easy life? Come
to think of it, I have a few documents with old posts which I made in the
early days for my own reference. Maybe I should send them to Mike for the
website as a starting point. Hmmm.
