I cannot persuade my friend who is diabetic; no matter how much
literature I show her to the contrary, that statin drugs are BAD! She
still faithfully takes it because, *her doctor says she should have
low cholesterol because she is diabetic* nothing I can say will
change her mind so I have given up.

I know exactly what you mean, and for this you *do* have my sympathy. I
had to watch an Aunt of mine die a slow death from cancer, with her
knowing what to do to get well (one thing being to give up her 6+ diet
pepsi's per day), but her simply refusing to do anything... it is
frustratingly maddening... and so unnecessary.
