Earle, Unless you are using HVAC there is no need to worry about microSeimens. With DW the high reading of microSeimens generally means that there is too much carbon dioxide or air in the water. This would be the case if previous bottles from the same supplier were ok.
Unless one has a bridge and probe calibated in mS, one cannot read it directly. One needs a one cubic centimeter probe connected to an ohmmeter. MicroSeimens is then 1/resistance as expressed on megohms, i.e. a reading of 100,000 ohms would be mS = 1/.1 or 10 microSeimens.
