Yea $175 for a deep cycle marine battery you can get for $60 at the
auto parts store.
Pretty pricey label !!
The windups probably use a big capacitor discharging through a big resistor
or voltage regulator.. doesn't store much power, but charges up fast and
doesn't go bad for a long time. Also very light weight and inexpensive
compared to batteries
The concept could be well applied to CS making as that doesn't take much power.
If you put it along a trail, everyone who passes by could give the crank
a turn or two and it would run the CS generator long enough for the next
person to pass by.
...even some sort of treadle to step on along the way.

No way about it, that site is playing on the lack of knowledge by the masses.
Misrepresenting and naming things wrong is enough to turn some of us OFF,
even if he had good products and good prices.
Likely he has 1000 competitors.
Interesting story...... we had a phony order placed from another country
for a large order of solar panels. I think they actually send a purchase
order. We were a bit too smart and cautious with any foreign
order. We never shipped of course and would not without cash in hand first.
