**** For what it's worth -- it isn't just FEMA's trailers that have a
formaldehyde issue -- ALL new mobile homes do. Even the great big, beautiful
$150,000.00 ones. It's the consequence of all the new materials that are used
to build the unit itself, plus all the new materials inside. Inside the sales
office at every mobile home dealer there is posted a warning about this.
What's necessary is for the home to be aired out -- windows open, ceiling fans
working, and circulation fan on the furnace going -- for a period of about a
week, before anyone moves into one. So much fear and concern could be avoided
if people would just educate themselves about the things that they encounter.
MA
P.S. We get a little bit of the same problem with new cars, and even when we
buy new furniture or carpeting for our homes. It's just that with mobile
homes, everything is new, inside and out.
