I have treated eye infections in myself and also my cat with herbs. One of the best is whole fennel seed, available in grocery stores or Asian markets; and also a common weed, Prunella vulgaris, Self-heal; and Plantago lanceolata, Ribwort Plaintain, called the #1 heat-clearing agent by "The Energetics of Western Herbs" by Peter Holmes. I made these into a tea. Strained and cooled. I added a few drops of Goldenseal tincture, a powerful herbal antibiotic. These have worked for me on several occasions. I drop the tea into the eye or it can be held on in a compress.

Last time I got a really bad one on a trip I had only some CS and some fennel seed and it took several days using drops 4+ times a day but it did get rid of it.

My Australian Cattle Dog suddenly got an eye infection a couple weeks ago.  The eye was red and oozing green stuff from the inside corner.
