Not sure who these people / sources are but it does not matter.
There is no proof of that statement, over many thousands of years.
You and them are forgetting that only ONE Form of Natural Vitamin C exists,
....... period.
Man and ALL Animals have survived for thousands of years with only natural
vitamin C. Long before the Genius chemists, started monkeying around with
Vitamin C.
Explain that !

No animal, plant, or human destroys it.
Its pretty hard to find information on how vitamins are
processed, in my experience. my 2cents,
Of course. some of the methods are secret no doubt.
I am not saying the Man Made Vitamin C is no good.
Yet, ........ all the people that yell ........... Organic, Organic, Organic,
and Natural, Natural and Natural from the mountain tops will
turn right around and buy man made Vitamin C.
That my friend, is a double set of Standards.
No animal or plant on the face of the earth makes any Vitamin C
complex. Go Figure !
Fact is, any vitamin C is better than NO vitamin C.
Of the three makers of Vitamin C, Plants, Animals, and Man,
I say Man is the Genius Chemist. The other two can make only one
kind. Man Can make Many. And Possibly the ones man makes is best.
But still, some of your statements do not hold water.
Likewise with Plant Nutrients, Man is the only Genius in the bunch.
but that is another long and controversial story, and the
Organic Bunch will have a heart attack, or their blood pressure will go
thru the Roof. Organic is ONE BOGUS Term with many definitions.
Fact is, I believe both sides of the story, but that does not make many of
the statements man makes true.
Dealing with FACTS instead of Theories and Fallacies is hard to do.
But I can usually do it, .......... in some instances.
