Many people who can not tolerate grocery store cow's milk have success with
switching to raw milk either cow's or goats. The processes used to produce
milk for the grocery store to meet government requirements converts certain
parts of the milk which are there specifically to help us digest it. IIRC it
is the lactase that is altered to lactose...I could be wrong here as it has
been a while since I read up on it, but in any case whatever the
alteration...it is the reason many people have problems with milk.
I was told as a child that I would never be able to drink milk because it
caused tremendous sinus problems for me that manifested as excess mucus and
migraine headaches. I have no problem whatsoever drinking either raw cow's
milk or raw goat's milk but can only drink grocery store milk if it has been
fermented using kefir grains.
Finding raw milk can sometimes be difficult depending upon what state you live
in because of the laws. Here in Florida it is illegal to sell it for human
consumption but most of the folks get around this by marking it for pet
consumption only.
