One of the experts can correct me if I am not completely correct, but:
When the amount of silver is relatively high (above 20 ppm or a little
less) or the current is too high while making it, the particles can
agglomerate, and some of the ions will link up- this makes it disperse
light at a different wavelength, and it looks more yellow.
If you add hydrogen peroxide a drop at a time after it has set for a
few days, it can restore the clarity by splitting the larger particles
apart. A secondary reason could be an impurity (perhaps the glass was
not clean enough) which can cause it to change color, but if that is
it, it won't stop at yellow.
