Many customers panicked as soon as the knew Northern Rock had problems. They were asured their money was safe (it was guaranteed by govt) but many chose to withdraw it immediately. The inevitable queues caused some to have to wait but no-one lost any money, unless of course you count taxpayers who, in effect bailed out Northern Rock. Northern Rock just happen to be the biggest sponsers of my favourite rugby team Newcastle Falcons. They also own their ground. That worries me more than te safety of money with them. Kirsteen
