In addition to what everyone else has been saying, there are a couple of other things that are effective. Tea Tree Oil dabbed on around the tooth and also Listerine mouthwash. There were some instructions about keeping the Listerine in the mouth for seven minutes to clear infected gums. I tried it and it worked for me when other things wern't intirely clearing it up.
