Ions, being dissolved in the water, are not going to settle out and they
are too small to see with a laser light. [no TE]
If anything does settle out, those particulates that do, don't meet the
definition of colloid..too big.
Those that don't settle out are colloids...very small.
A colloidal particle can also be too small to see with a laser. It won't
settle out either.
Settling is far more effective as a filter than any filter.

My son has complained before that his colloidal silver has settled
out. Today I saw with my own eyes two jars of it which I'd made a couple
months ago. They had no Tyndall. Do you think that might mean the ionic
silver is settled out, too? Could I learn the answer to that with a pwt
meter? I no longer strain my CS because I don't want the chemicals from
the filters to contaminate. I'm very careful about cleaning the jars and
shake distilled water in each and empty that before I add the distilled
water to make CS. I use a Colloid Master AC. I just wipe the silver bars
with paper towel. My stuff doesn't settle out at home. Do you think
keeping it near a refrigerator and microwave could harm it?
If one has settled out and you have no other, would it be bad to shake it
up and then use some? Daughter in law got food poisoning yesterday it
sounds like from a gyro at the Greek Festival possibly. She said she used
some of the CS and it helped (not shaken up).
