My brother and SIL were having similar problems and were diagnosed as
having imaginary parasitosis but one sample they send in had
collembolas, and there is at least one website that discusses these in
human infestations, most doctors scoff.

I haven't talked to them recently to see if the problem resolved. I
think diatomaceous earth was one thing they were trying. There are
some essential oils that are good for killing insect parasites, like
Anise Oil and Tea Tree Oil.
