Distilled H2O is stripped of all minerals. This makes it super
absorbent and will dissolve the minerals out of the body, add the
good minerals back. R/O strips the minerals out to making it acidic,
too.

This statement doesn't really stand up to much 'common sense'
examination and I doubt there's any credible research to support it
either. It suggests that rain water is bad for you. It also ignores
the fact that the distilled water would become impure the second it
hits the stomach.
And, even if it was true, then you would have to conclude that
ordinary tap water at about 300 ppm is still 'super absorbent'.
(Water can 'absorb' up to 30,000 ppm at least, as evidenced by sea
water.)
Its possible that purified water may lack some useful minerals but
thats another issue.

I don't know, I can see his point. Just boiling water changes it's pH,
and therefore it's mineral content (reduces it).
It seems to me that we as humans can put nearly any water to good use,
the body knows how to filter out whatever it does not want. The
problems have more historically been with biologic contaminations, like
bacteria and parasites. And what about those bad watering holes in the
desert (is it lime that makes them bad? I have forgotten), and sulfuric
acid lakes in volcanic craters.
Nowadays so many of us have been poisoned by the 20th century lifestyle
that our bodies no longer function well from a younger and younger age.
There are many many toxins that cause electrolyte imbalances, hormone
imbalances, the list goes on and on. Adding toxins in the water supply
from pollution or even air pollution can put many of us over the edge.
So it only makes sense to limit whatever is in our control, and water
falls into that category for some of us.
Chemically, labs use distilled water because it does not have anything
else in it to react, thus it is more inert. It should be a better
choice for one who is limiting toxic exposure, or trying to detox. I am
sure I get most of my minerals from all the veggies I eat, and from the
fruit too. Still, I don't think it is enough.
Boy do I love to drink straight out of the mineral springs! I get quite
a lift out of it, but it doesn't happen very often.
