I agree that water filled with bacteria or other contaminants is not fit
to drink. That would be my first criteria as to whether or not to drink
it. However, that isn't what was being discussed.
I thought HCL would kill bacteria and food poisoning. And likely
bacteria in water.
Some great doctors state the human body should kill every food poisoning
there is.
The Real Point..........
I have a friend, 72 years old. He backpacks into the Big Bend county
and stays 7 to 9 days,
All Alone.
He takes only 1 gallon of water but states he must find water or he
cannot stay that long.
Likely he can smell it like a wild animal.
I asked him if he takes anything to purify the water.
His reply, NO !
I drink it like I find it, and have done so for years. It has never
made me sick.
He lives on one pound of food per day, checks his weight before and
after each trip.
And says he does not loose or gain one pound.
This makes we wonder, just how many human bodies are working right, 100
% right.
Of course me and everyone included.
Final note,.......... a few years back me, my son, and two of his
friends were building a dam on
a creek. The water was crystal clear. We all drink some. The other two
got sick but me and my son did not.
Recently my son and two of his friends ate someplace. They got food
poisoning but my son did not.
This is not to say of suggest that one take the gamble.
For years I ate food of the floor, anyplace, to test my immune system.
I know, it takes all kinds of fools to make the world go around.
