I second the motion of trying hydrogen peroxide. If you ever want to 
remove a silver film from the inside of a storage bottle or generator 
jar, simple 3% peroxide from the pharmacy or grocery store will work 
almost instantly.

I don't see why a 50/50 mix of peroxide and water, swished around as a 
mouthwash occasionally wouldn't take away any staining you're seeing. I 
believe it also is good against plaque? Am I remembering that 
correctly, anybody?
