I remember reading that peroxide dissolves the coating that plague
bacteria secrete to protect themselves. Using CS after a peroxide rinse
thus allows for the CS to be more effective at killing the bacteria.
Adding a few drops of peroxide to the CS for that final rinse should
keep it from discoloring teeth. But I can't help but think it is
something in the saliva that affects whether CS does discolor the teeth
or not, as it happened to me, then stopped, and hasn't happened for
years now.
I've also heard of wetting the toothbrush with peroxide then dipping it
into baking soda and brushing with that.

I second the motion of trying hydrogen peroxide. If you ever want to
remove a silver film from the inside of a storage bottle or generator
jar, simple 3% peroxide from the pharmacy or grocery store will work
almost instantly.
I don't see why a 50/50 mix of peroxide and water, swished around as a
mouthwash occasionally wouldn't take away any staining you're seeing. I
believe it also is good against plaque? Am I remembering that
correctly, anybody?
