I don't know what you guys are talking about. I bought a generator where all I have to do is put the water in, flick a switch, and forget it. This is about my speed. I am sorry that I cannot contirbute to the conversation when people ask questions about this stuff. Faith G.

I took apart the case and, lo and behold, the cheapo battery holder from
radio shack is broken, with the end popped off and the batteries
sticking out.

I just finished re-wiring my generator with new battery holders and a
little LED lamp and pushbutton switch to confirm there's enough oomph!
left in the batteries to at least push 15 milliamps through the lamp.
If it lights at all, there's plenty of energy to make CS with.

If anybody has the Faraday equation handy, you might note that I chose
the .27 milliamp current limiting diode so that 12 hours of
electrolysis would yield something like 13 ppm of silver in a liter of
water. Given that the initial conductivity is actually lower, something
closer to 10 ppm is the actual result.

I like the easygoing operating procedure with this design. I fill up
the canning jar container first thing in the morning or last thing at
night, and cycle it again 12 hours later. I can make a half-gallon a
day that way.

I pour it off into clear 20 ounce plastic bottles that used to contain
spring water.

Simple. Easy. Requires little attention. If I forget and let it go an
extra day, I get a slightly stronger than usual batch. <grin>

I started a new batch. I wonder what kinda Herx I'm gonna get when I
*start* taking CS for the first time in who knows how long!!!?

Be well,
