My sister-in-law had this and it started with an awful pain in the back,
and yes, it *was* hell on earth! dee
You know Dee, when she was first diagnosed with it the specialists told her
that it was rare and that only 1 out of 2 million, or 200 million as I can't
remember which now as it is a few years ago, get this and yet on asking
around after hearing this from her we found 5 people, just in our family and
friends group, who knew someone who had it. That's a few more than the
stats the specialists mentioned!!! I did a little research on the subject
and discovered that a sudden shock can trigger it off, don't ask me how
though. Personally, I'm inclined to think it is either a form of Palsy, but
with far greater consequences as there are numerous forms of Palsy, or a
form of stroke as I know one can have several strokes and not be aware one
has had stroke, they show up as tiny areas or 'spots' of brain tissue that
is dead. If my assumption is right then one of those tiny areas could play
a role in the development of MND. Of course I will never know about that as
I am not a brain surgeon! Neville.
