Thanks for your help Connie, I have always understood there to be a slight chance of argyria if CS is ingested in mega quantities, but I had not realized that it was as common as it seems to be, which was a bit of a surprise to me I must say. I suppose I will just have to say to the people I give it to, to use as much as is needed, *when* it is needed, instead of to use all the time. I don't think the argyria thing is so bad, just that maybe something else could be caused in some people, given the lack of actual evidence of anything. I think I will proceed with caution on this. I had a thought: is this maybe the reason why we are told to hold it in our mouths for as long as possible before swallowing? Would this mean that the ions would go through the gums and then maybe make less to go into the stomach to be turned into silver chloride? Over to the experts. dee

I've been giving my cats CS for years.. it makes up 40% of their water and they love it. If they turn blue it won't make a bit of difference. A far as other people give them a web site and let them decide for themselves. Myself I'm not worried and I've been taking it for years in large quantities.
