Sent this a few hours ago and it never showed up in my mail, so I'm sending a
second time.....

My daughter sent this asking for help with mold control. Has anyone
used any chlorine dioxide product to clear a room of mold? I was
wondering if I could make my MMS into a spray like the Vital-Oxide, but
then couldn't do the math to figure out concentrations and price.

I need Assistance in some research. I need to know which would be better -
CLO2 like http://www.odorxit.com/?ANCOGeneral~mi (extended release)
(fairly pricey) or could I get by with using something like this which is "clay
with sodium chlorite" according to the msds http://preview.tinyurl.com/3ke7n2 .
Which means it's
NaCLO2. (and is cheap) I THINK that maybe when the NaCLO2 hits moisture it
turns
into CLO2 but I'm not sure and if that IS the case, how much moisture would be
needed to turn it into CLO2 and kill the mold spores eating paint in a basement
that is kept around 45% humidity?

And also, http://www.achooallergy.com/vital-oxide.asp - think it
would be better to use the gas CLO2 first to kill the mold and THEN
spray the dead spores on the paint for removal so that they don't start spewing
out spores like mold does when it's attacked?

It's painted soft BRICK (NOT concrete block, not nice modern hard fired all the
way through brick), the mold is eating the Drylok (the Drylok was painted on
top
old paint which apparently had mold at least in parts) and the underlying
moisture issue has been corrected.

They have computers and printers in the basement; do you think Chlorine dioxide
gas would harm them?

Posting this to MDI and silver list in hopes of reaching all who might be able
to help.

                                                                Thanks,

                                                                Pat
