TENS units are Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulators... they are used for
painful conditions resulting from injury to muscles or nerves. They are
marginally effective... sometimes they work like a charm but other times they
don't work that well. They work best when the body is intact... a torn muscle
or nerve will not respond as well as an intact one.
