Just a suggestion: take him to the vet for blood work, checking for
thyroid levels. My cat was very hyper-manic, had very rapid heartbeat
(350 bpm), lost chunks of fur, very thin with a brittle spine and ate
everything in sight. One thyroid lobe was removed and kitty has been
fine since. Otherwise, check for worms.
