The quality of the CS would also determine the shelf life, I would
suppose. But again, how could you test it? Which generator had that
feature again? I think it would be helpful to know what one produced...

Fresh produced CS is somewhat different than aged CS. It changes,
stabilizes I would say, in about 48 hours. A big difference is the way
it behaves when H2O2 is added, but the effectiveness for any particular
thing might change as well, although how is unknown. After the 48
hours, well made CS is normally quite stable when kept pure.
