Nope.
The CS has germ killing properties independent of the gel, the gel has
hygroscopic properties independent of the CS.
..As the gel surface dries, it wants more liquid and gets it from the skin
interface, setting up an outward flow, pulling whatever is there, away.

I made up a batch of CS gel and took it to the Medic tent at an outdoor
music festival. They said it was the best thing they'd ever used on tick
and mosquito bites...seems to work like a "pulling poultice" to suck out
pus, venoms and anti coagulants.
