I have been soaking up this list for a while now and finally got around to building my first colloidal silver generator. Let me say that making your own product is very exciting and to those of you sitting on the fence, I encourage you to go ahead and take the plunge and build or buy a generator. The feeling of self empowerment is not insignificant.
My generator is fashioned after the Bruce Marks design with one improvement. I incorporated a screw feed assembly for the two silver electrodes. This enables me to advance the electrodes up or down to compensate for changes in electrode length (wear), and changes in water level by precisely positioning them above the water. The large bar is stationary as it does not need to be adjusted. I use a two gallon polycarbonate food grade container with a snap fit lid as Marks uses. For my first batch I dug out a distiller I have and made up a batch of distilled water. I poured the water into the batch tank adjusted the electrodes and presto BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. A very small cone formed and large black particles started falling off each electrode falling to the bottom of the tank. A check with a laser demonstrated strong tyndall with a lot of small sparklies in the beam. For my second batch I used store bought distilled water and PRESTO large cones formed and no black particles! (I sharpened the tips of the electrodes this time). I don't have any measuring devices except a laser pointer and the tyndall beam when looked at in a darkened room looks like a brilliant ruby shaft with far fewer sparklies, quite impressive. Oh yeah, the colloid produced was clear. Now I need to get sick or find someone sick to test it on. Dennis Lipter -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
