And one doesn't have to be in an HMO either. My health insurace company
practices those denials and exclusions as well as limits what doctors I
can see and what tests I can have. They even control what pharmacy I can
get Rx meds from. If we get Rx meds anywhere else they won't pay. If
there is a generic available they pay nothing at all towards the brand
name med. It is a very profitable racket, and it does constitute rationing.
