In addition to nebulizing, I have found applying the Buteyko breathing method very helpful in overcoming asthma (as well as avoiding all and everything dairy). Having used the method myself I can recommend for anyone to look into this.
The Buteyko method in general has wonderful results and may be worth looking into. Many have become totally free from any asthma attacks and as a results free of any medication. From what I understand, this technique developed by Professor Konstantin Buteyko, has been adopted in Russia as part of their general health care system to help people with respiratory problems. Other countries unfortunately are slow to follow. Once the technique is mastered (re-learning to breathe properly) those suffering usually don't need any further medical assistance nor medication.
A personal friend of mine was using a C-pap machine for sleep apnea and after about 4 months he was able to do away with the machine which he had for nearly 3 years. Many other health issues are said to benefit from this technique.

It's been several months since her last one (March), which actually ended up in pneumonia. I am not interested in going to the hospital with her, so I want to do anything an everything I can to keep her out.
